Manufacturing makes it possible

Tint Wizard manufacturing focuses on plastic injection molded products. This type of manufacturing is ideal for the Glass Tinting profession due to the demand for softer plastic parts that do not threaten the delicate work performed by Glass Tinting professionals. The manufacturing process begins with the conceptualization of a new product followed by the design, mold creation and injection molding of parts. The following slides present the development of a Tint Wizard squeegee.

Part design is performed by Computer Aided Design (CAD) and must consider breaking down the final product into several cavities that later come together to form a mold that can withstand thousands of pounds of pressure as molten plastic is forced into the cavities. A specialized program built by BobCAD-CAM CNC Software The design process must also consider the size and shape of the tools that will cut and shape the metal.

Setting up the machinery to begin the milling of the mold entails the strategic placement of uncut Aluminum metal in either a conventional or CNC milling machine.

Cavities according to the design are gradually cut into the blank Aluminum that represent the space that is to be occupied by the plastic. Carefully designed 'runners' or channels are incorporated into the mold that feed each cavity at a controlled rate.

In cases where CNC machining is employed, precision automation of the milling process is performed by computer codes that are generated from BobCAD-CAM industrial design software. This software greatly accelerates both the design and machining process and, produces precision results needed for high quality products.

As the mold nears completion, the cavities begin to hint at the shape of the final product.

The final mold is polished and prepared for injection molding. It is at this point that the incredible degree of preparation can truly be appreciated as, a hundred pound mold suggests the outline of a hand-held squeegee.

The final mold is mounted in an injection molding machine in Anaheim California where thousands of parts can be produced in a span of hours.

The final product, a quality Spehar Squeegee is eventually produced and later uploaded to our site for general retail sales as well as wholesale supply.
